Up for consideration is this 24 High Plains Sporter barrel. It was originally a 50 caliber rifle which I had bored. 580 and rifled by Bobby Hoyt at the Freischutz Shop. Its round bottom rifling for quick and easy cleanup with a 1 in 60 rate of twist suitable for round ball loads from 60 to 120 grains of 2f powder. Bobby Hoyt is well known for the high quality of his work and his barrels consistently win at the target butts as well as in the field. 58 caliber barrel is superbly accurate and sufficiently powerful for any big game on the continent. The barrel also fits directly into the New Englander and Black Mountain Magnum stocks in fact, any of the round barrel Thompson Center Sidelocks. This is truly one of a kind!
