This 50 caliber barrel assembly is from a Thompson Center High Plains Sporter Muzzleloding Black Powder Rifle. Blue finish has spots of light rust from bloody hands towards rear of barrel and a few scars towards front. All flaws are shown in pics. Barrel shows some Typical Black Powder corrosion but loads a tight patched ball well and shoots well. Round 1 barrel in. 50 caliber with 1-48 rate of twist to accurately shoot sabot, Maxi Balls or round ball. Thompson Center synthetic ramrod. Has original front sight and adjustable rear sight. Sling swivel stud on ramrod ferrule. New looking stainless steel nipple.

1 Thompson Center T/C High Plains Sporter 50 Cal Muzzleloader Barrel really nice. This is a really nice barrel. These hardly ever come up for sale because it’s TC. Didn’t make a ton of them takes a smaller trigger group. I do have the parts for it in my other auctions. Very nice barrel as you can see. The bore is beautiful!! Up for consideration is this 24 High Plains Sporter barrel. It was originally a 50 caliber rifle which I had bored. 580 and rifled by Bobby Hoyt at the Freischutz Shop. Its round bottom rifling for quick and easy cleanup with a 1 in 60 rate of twist suitable for round ball loads from 60 to 120 grains of 2f powder. Bobby Hoyt is well known for the high quality of his work and his barrels consistently win at the target butts as well as in the field. 58 caliber barrel is superbly accurate and sufficiently powerful for any big game on the continent. The barrel also fits directly into the New Englander and Black Mountain Magnum stocks in fact, any of the round barrel Thompson Center Sidelocks. This is truly one of a kind!
