Thompson Center Barrel

This stainless-matte barrel is 17 inches long and is equipped with fiber optic sights and a muzzle tamer. It was manufactured at the long-gone Rochester NH T/C Custom shop and it really shoots. Even though it is only 17 inches, velocities are nearly identical to a 24 inch Savage and Model 94s with factory ammo or handloads. Muzzle report is a sharp’bark’ but it does not kick at all; perfect for a youngster or small statured hunter wearing ear protection. The barrel has filler screws in the scope base holes. Bore is bright and shiny and well-cared for. External surfaces are like new except for some slight rubs. I set up a Contender Carbine for youths to deer hunt with and it was a neat, 4 3/4 pound gun that was perfect for kids, or to carry if out for a scouting/hunting cruise. This is a rare, useful and well made barrel from the great old Custom Shop in NH. You will not be disappointed by the way this barrel looks or shoot.
