Thompson Center Barrel

Thompson Center T/C Hawken / Renegade 1 Inch 50 ca flintlock Barrel 27-inch hook shoulder to muzzle. 1 in 66 twist checked by doing the patch method. This is the shorter length Carbine style barrel. About this barrel and its age. This barrel does not have the Black powder Warning on it which puts it in to the pre. It is not marked Renegade or Hawken so it is very early 1970’s to 1980’s It has a 6-digit serial(112194) but that can’t nail a date down for certain. T\C records were lost in fire (1997). Because of the model’s ie. Hawkin or Renegade name not being on the barrel We can assume that it is not from the 1980’s era. But because the rod guides are black steel, not brass, you could assume it to be from 1976 first year of the renegade model and July 1978 when Sharon closed the doors, with 1978 being the youngest dating possible. Knowing this, one could conclude it is a 1976 to 78 Renegade Sharon barrel made for T/C. It has nice clean rifling the bluing is 95% a few minor scratches and what not. One of the better barrels from this age I have ever seen. The factory front sight post has been replaced to a blade type. No other modifications were made.
