New Hampshire made Thompson Center Encore 26 blued barrel chambered in 6.5x55mm Swede. A weaver type scope base is included with the barrel. I bought this barrel pre owned and I never fired it. The bore and rifling look excellent. There is no rust and the only marks I could find on the barrel were the typical frame marks from being mounted on a frame. This barrel has the standard factory heavy taper and the breach and muzzle look excellent as shown in the photos. Barrel can be mounted and fired from an encore and or pro hunter frame only by Thompson Center Arms. Barrel is NOT COMPATABLE WITH THE CONTENDER OR G2 FRAMES. Though I never fired the barrel, the condition looks excellent to me. The 6.5x55mm Swede is an excellent round due to an extremely high ballistic coefficient and outstanding sectional density. All of the Swede barrels I have fired have been very accurate and without harsh recoil. I believe this would make an exceptional barrel for whitetails.
