Thompson Center Barrel

Thompson Center Contender and G2 Contender rifle barrel chambered in the super potent. 375 JDJ which is likely the most popular round ever developed by JD Jones. I would say the condition of this bbl is very good used condition almost excellent used as it looks rarely fired and there are super faint frame marks and a couple of safe dings here and there but the rifling is crisp and the finish is good. However the contender is limited to what rounds it can safely fire. This has to do with pressure when the round is fired not necessarily recoil. For example, a 22-250 has much less recoil than a 45/70 government or this. 375 JDJ, but it produces pressure that is beyond the SAAMi specs that dictate what can safely be fired from a contender. That is why there are encore pistols and rifles chambered in 22-250 and never contenders chambered in the round. So JOnes set out to develop rounds ior wildcat cartridges that could balistically match higher pressure rounds with pressures that were safe to be fired from i tenders.
