Nice used 21 blue barrel in 30-30 Winchester. Has some light marks from normal use. The elevation screw on the rear sight has a chip out of the face as shown. The screw turns as it should with no binding, cross-threading, or loss of grip, and the elevation adjustment works properly. The rear sight is in good shape overall. There are two screws that mount the rear sight to the barrel. The front screw has a small chip out of the face, just like the elevation screw. Both of the sight mounting screws have good threads and torque down as they should. I would put some blue loctite on them if I was going to keep it, but I chose not to in case the new owner choses to replace them. Measures 21 overall length. The inside of the barrel is clean, and the riflings are nice and crisp. It does not appear to have been shot much. The crown and throat are in good shape, as is the front sight. Here is my reply. Thanks for asking, I had not thought to check them. I took the elevation screw out and threaded it into all 4 of the scope mounting holes and torqued it as tightly as I wanted to with my pocket screwdriver with no problems. Flash pictures look too grainy and the ambient light pictures are not detailed enough. When I took the elevation screw out of the rear sight I removed the spring to keep it from flying out I did notice that the rear sight mounting screw has a small chip out of the face as well. I will be editing the listing to add these notes. Please pay within 24 hours. The item “Thompson Center Contender 21 carbine barrel in 30-30 winchester” is in sale since Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
