Thompson Center Encore 45-70 S/S barrel with JP Hoitzer muzzle brake. Barrel length is 16 3/4 long. I had this barrel custom made by E. I could not find a 15 S/S pistol barrel so I had this one cut down from a rifle barrel and precision crowned for accuracy and the J. Howitzer muzzle brake installed. Claims a 30% muzzle recoil reduction. I think it is a lot more than that. All work was expertly done by E. Then I had the grip and forend custom made for the gun. The forend has a rail added for extra strength. I enjoy shooting large cal. Pistols and this one shoots great. At the shooting range I have had a lot of people do double takes when they see this gun and the size of a 45-70 round next to it. When I let anyone shoot it they all said the same thing. “NICE” “SWEET” Quite impressive.
